Thinklusive worked with the Centre for Trials Research at Cardiff University to co-produce an easy-read guide to the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Impaired Capacity to Consent Framework (INCLUDE) Framework.
The aim of the NIHR INCLUDE Framework is to ensure trials are designed to be inclusive of people with impaired capacity to consent, as well as improving the quality of the trial design.
Trial teams need to do everything possible to make their trial relevant to the people for whom the results are intended to apply, particularly for groups who are under-served by research (such as people with a learning disability or autism).
The Thinklusive Co-production Group worked over a number of workshops to design the easy-read guide.
The INCLUDE Framework launched in November 2022.
